Nine Chances to Die (pt. 6)

“NO! NO! NO!”
“LET ME GO! LET ME OUT! I’M SORRY!”
“Wake up boy!”
Johnny opened his eyes, he found himself on the doorway of where he tripped over the cat. He looked around, it was still twilight. He looked in his hand, he was holding a candy bar instead of an hourglass.

“Oh my, are you okay?” asked the shop owner.
“… yeah, I-I must’ve tripped…” Johnny slowly got up, he observed his foot, no cut, no blood, he noticed his whole body wasn’t soaked or aching.
“Here” he gave the candy bar back to the shop owner.

“Oh no, no, you keep it, on the house. A gift for the trip in my shop.”

The shop owner chuckled, “no pun intended.”

Johnny nervously chuckled, thanked him and started to make his way home. As he made his home, he observed his surroundings, he noticed the quiet street as he carefully crossed it, he noticed the park as he cautiously made his way through, the lacking of the spike of the fence, the lights off due to no holiday, no rapid dog.
Johnny made it to his front porch, he stopped and looked around behind him and twilight was now slowly fading into darkness. He noticed how quiet it all seemed...
A dream, it was all a dream! He thought.

It couldn’t be, it all felt too real to be a dream! The pain, the blood, the water… even the touch of the people taking them to the van.

He took out the candy bar and observed it…

Well, if all this was just a dream, I just gotta be more careful in my skills.

He thought, as he opened the door. But when he opened the door, his mouth fell open in shock. There before him was the straggly cat… with its eyes set still on one.

**the one thing Johnny is not getting, that it’s not about Luck good or bad, nor is it about skill, it’s about DOING right or wrong and how it affects you.
I hope you all enjoyed this! Please leave comments to help me improve more for my writings
Thanks! **

Nine Chances to Die (pt. 5)

He blinked his eyes, he saw that he was stuck in something. He blinked a few more times, a hole?
He was stuck halfway in an open manhole! His arms and hands were held over him, he squirmed his way out carefully.  Tired, his whole body hurting, he crawled the remaining of the way to the dimly lit street light. He put his back to street light post, he took a moment to catch his breath. He took out the hourglass, he saw that the top half of the sand was almost gone.

Meow

He looked up to see that straggly cat before him, with its eyes now set on 4.

“4? Look, how much more of this? It’s just a toy, I’m just practicing my skills! I’ll give it back tomorrow, I just want to prove to my friends that luck good or bad does not exist!”
He shouted at the cat.
“Who are you talking to?”
Johnny turned his head, a woman approached him.
“Are you okay? You look terrible.”
She said, observing his clothing and badly bandage foot.
“I’m just trying to get home, but this cat has been stopping me every step of the way.”
“What cat?” she asked.
“This cat”, Johnny pointed to the cat, when he saw that the cat’s eyes changed to 3.
What? Why? It’s just a woman. Johnny thought.

“You poor boy, let us help you home.”
Us?
The woman waved down a van that came from the darkness, as the van approached the door open and a man came out. Johnny stared wide eyed first at the van than at the cat, as its eyes turned to 2.
“Uh, no, no I’m alright, I can get home by myself.”
“Oh don’t be silly, you’re too hurt to move, let us help you inside the van.” Said the woman.
“No! I’m fine! Let me be!” Johnny tried to struggle, but his whole body ached with each struggle attempt he made. As the man and woman fought to put him inside the van, he could see the cat’s eyes slowly turning to one as the van door closed in front of him.

Nine Chances to Die (pt. 4)

Johnny lifted his head up, the dog was coming faster now. Johnny turned his head to the cat.
The cat blinked, its eyes changed back to a regular cat eyes, the cat suddenly ran away screaming.
Alerting the dog to change its direction toward the cat!
Johnny slowly got up

That cat just saved me?

Johnny, still feeling lightheaded, staggered to sidewalk, carefully made his way over that ridiculous fence. He made his way back to the beginning to the park from which he came.

5? Why 5?

He sat by the sidewalk, he reflected on what had happen:
That stupid fence! He thought.
I could’ve bled to death and that lake, if those lights didn’t blind me I wouldn’t have tripped—

He then realized…

I could’ve died… Is that what that cat is counting down to? My death?

But why—why would the cat save me from that dog? Is he toying with me? Over this silly thing I took?

Johnny took out the item from his jacket, for the first time he saw what it was that he took.
“An hourglass?” he said out loud.
“Really? It’s just a decorated toy.”
But as he gazed closer at the hourglass, he saw that the sand falling to the bottom was turning black, while the sand on top was white. He tried to turn it upside down, but the sand wouldn’t fall the other way.
He set the item down, silly toy he thought as he wrapped up his leg.
He tucked the item back in his jacket as he stood up, he decided to take the long way than to go through that way again. He made his way down the street, staggering because his foot was still hurting, the streetlights were either dim, blinking, or just out of service.

We seriously need to hire people to do their job right!

He continued onward, groping and squinting his way through the darkness. The street seemed empty with only cars reflecting off the lights of the streetlights and houses that looked creepy and abandoned.
The street was so bad of the lights that he eventually staggered from light to light. He stopped at the dimly lit streetlight. Breathing heavily, he looked up ahead, he didn’t see any lights on the remainder of the street. He saw that there was another dimly lit street light on the other side of the street, but it seemed so far.

Oh great! I could either stay here or my parents could kill me for being here all night.

He decided to at least try to make it to the light, so he steadily walked toward the street light on the opposite of the street. His eyes fixed on the street light.

I’m almost there! It’s getting brighter now.

That’s all he could think about, that’s all he wanted to see.
He made his way half way through the street, when it suddenly went dark for him…

**stay tooned for part 5!**

WD Elements product review

Hey I thought I'd do a quickie product review!

This is called:

WD 2TB Elements Portable External Hard Drive, I have one and this has worked wonders for me.

Before getting this, I thought "my computer can handle it! Besides, I don't have that many things on my computer..." as you can see, I had very little knowledge of computers and what they can and cannot handle.

So when my computer started acting up because of viruses or getting over heated. I had to do something fast to save all my info! There are somethings that can't be replaced like pictures of relatives, story ideas, or animations...

So I bought myself a WD 1TB, now I make it a strict habit to saving my stuff. I have no complaints!

I am planning to buy another one for myself... as an artist, you can never have too many!
1 TB is $51.99 (+tax)
2 TB is $59.99 (+tax)

Get it here!: https://amzn.to/2CiPEaL

Taking on a challenge

Sorry about the story of the "Nine Chances to die" being delayed.

Art is one of the things that cannot be rushed, I'd love to hear some feedback on what I've done so far.

I do wish to continue/finish this. But I'd thought I'd update you on what I'm doing right now.
Last Wednesday, a youtuber named Alex Clark had set announcement that he's giving away a Huion. A large tablet that helps you animate, draw and do other awesome stuff with it. Acts like large tablet, with an amazing pressure sensitive pen.

All you would have to do is send in an animation 1-2 mins, about: "5 things you'd like to accomplish within the next 5 years".
This has to be done before 09/10/2018, or next Monday. The time crunch is the biggest challenge for me! Doing an 8hr job, plus getting all my time in for drawing/animating, I'm really trying to push!

So yeah, I'm going to be busy for the next week doing this.
I like writing, but drawing is what I'm really into! I'll try to keep you update. Also if your interested in what the tablet looks like check it out through here: https://amzn.to/2oF2nLt

It really helps to give you the best of everything!

Presenting: Wrapping!
