“NO! NO! NO!”
“LET ME GO! LET ME OUT! I’M SORRY!”
“Wake up boy!”
Johnny opened his eyes, he found himself on the doorway of
where he tripped over the cat. He looked around, it was still twilight. He
looked in his hand, he was holding a candy bar instead of an hourglass.
“Oh my, are you okay?” asked the shop owner.
“… yeah, I-I must’ve tripped…” Johnny slowly got up, he
observed his foot, no cut, no blood, he noticed his whole body wasn’t soaked or
aching.
“Here” he gave the candy bar back to the shop owner.
“Oh no, no, you keep it, on the house. A gift for the trip
in my shop.”
The shop owner chuckled, “no pun intended.”
Johnny nervously chuckled, thanked him and started to make
his way home. As he made his home, he observed his surroundings, he noticed the
quiet street as he carefully crossed it, he noticed the park as he cautiously
made his way through, the lacking of the spike of the fence, the lights off due
to no holiday, no rapid dog.
Johnny made it to his front porch, he stopped and looked
around behind him and twilight was now slowly fading into darkness. He noticed
how quiet it all seemed...
A dream, it was all a
dream! He thought.
It couldn’t be, it all
felt too real to be a dream! The pain, the blood, the water… even the touch of
the people taking them to the van.
He took out the candy bar and observed it…
Well, if all this was
just a dream, I just gotta be more careful in my skills.
He thought, as he opened the door. But when he opened the
door, his mouth fell open in shock. There before him was the straggly cat… with
its eyes set still on one.
**the one thing Johnny is not getting, that it’s not about
Luck good or bad, nor is it about skill, it’s about DOING right or wrong and
how it affects you.
