Since the summer of 2008 (at least around that time frame), I have had 11 different jobs within the last 10 years! I know, doesn't seem like much to others, who've worked at one job for most of their lives...
But for me, I've been trying to find that job that I can have a better balance of working on art/comics/animation and earn a decent living.
Youtube seems like an excellent way to get your foot in the door for an animation career like your favorites: Alex Clark, James from the Odds1Out, and JadienAnimations and many, many, more that I am unable to name at this moment.
But while I'm still find that happy medium of a job and lifestyle, here's the jobs that I've had and either HATED, disliked or enjoyed. (yes, there's at least one or two jobs that I have enjoyed.)
1. Burger King: my first job back in 2008, i started on the night shift as a cashier. This job I kind of enjoyed, b/c later on I started working early in the morning and got off still early. Mornings were better for me, b/c after working nights with the surprise crowds from school football teams. Which you DO NOT want to get in the mist, things were easier in the morning. My only problem with that is that there was only one person for cashier and one person for cooking, and you know that time limits that those managers get on you about if that food is not out on a proper limit! Naggy managers!
However, at that time I had college loans that I had to pay off, HUGE AMOUNT, and that job, as semi peaceful as it was, was not paying enough for me to pay off my bills. So that lead me to my next disgusting job...
2. Call Center #1: I can't say the name of it, but as you tell from the title, it was a call center job, and it was for cellphones. Tech support to be more specific, and at first, it was... Okay. But I think it was b/c it was the 4 weeks of training that we were given, than after that were suppose to know what we were doing on the calls.
At first, it was alright, pretty simple, fix the phone to have internet, if it worked and most of the time it did, the cx would love you, if it didn't you have to go through the steps to better assist the cx, and if it still didn't work, then things wouldn't end too well for you.
But with this call center life, it can give you a bi-polar experience...
meaning that depending on the mood of the cx, could reflect the rest of your day or at least for the next few hours. Most of the time for me, I had the WORST CXS, if not their attudite, it would be the plain fact that they want me to fix their phone, while their on it. That's like fixing a car, while their driving!
After so long, I finally got the knack of it, but they later introduced troubleshooting computers... another nightmare to deal with!
I'll end it here for now! If I sound boring, please let me know, I want to improve on my writing!
